Industrial-ising Interiors!

Industrial Style in interiors, which appeared in the 2000’s, is widely followed and liked style across the globe for its cost-effective and a unique warehouse-like finish. There are few design elements which are usually incorporated to bring in the style’s sense and mood.

First and foremost is the color palette which includes mostly natural colors, neutral colors and rusty colors. Stay away from highly vibrant colors.

Below given are some of the decor elements that can be incorporated easily to add a sense of industrial style in the interiors

1) Brick wall  It is one of the easiest ways to initiate this style into the interiors. This element can be used in any    room of a home and it very well works as an accent wall too. Photo frames, wall fixtures or black  boards anything can be used to decorate this wall and emphasize the resulting effect.

2) Industrial light fixtures  One of the best features of this style is its set of lighting which includes variety of pendants, floor  lamps, wall fixtures. They are chic and works really well. The  most famous ones are the floor lamps  of the street lamp kinds and the pipe wall lighting fixtures.  And also warm colored lighting is  preferable. Further most of the light fixtures include filament bulb  kind of lamps.

3) Exposed ceiling/Salvaged wood ceiling  Again this is one of the very integral part of this style and it helps in completing the look of      industrial style in an interior. Though it is not very much in use in the case of domestic interiors it is  highly utilized in commercial interiors. In case of interiors one may prefer wooden beam ceiling to  complete the look. Another alternative is metal rafter ceiling.

 4) Use more of wood and concrete  These two materials are vital in this style and the way concrete is used and utilized in this style is    highly modern and elegant unlike the material’s usual outlook. Also it is cost effective and adds  neutral shade to the interiors.

5) Decor elements  Black boards, automobile parts, street lamps, cycles, wheels, hard wares, ladders, containers and  tyres are some  of the few things which can be used to decorate an interior in an industrial theme.

As we have already transformed our work places into homes and now its time to turn our homes into factories! This theme is highly suitable for (studio) apartments.
