The road of life!

We live in a world where everything has an objective definition attached to it. A six digit salary, two kids and eternal love with a spouse, isn’t that what happiness looks like? Roses are red, violets are blue, there is no me without you. Two souls in love, that palpable chemistry and spark. Constant need to be with each other. Isn’t that what love is? Being born in this world passing through the stages of infant, childhood, adulthood, parenthood following the protocols of education, love, marriage kids and grand kids and what not. Isn’t that how life’s supposed to be? Working hard, working super-duper hard, missing making memories with friends and family citing that the very reason is make them happier by not  actually being there for them. Sacrificing weekends, health and more just for that promotion and that hike. And finally when you reach the top, you get the corner cabin on the top floor or whatever that is you are looking for career wise to finally realize that half your life has just vanished and that you won’t be able to do anything you wanted to do the way you could have done because let’s face you have a thousand health issues that makes you irritable, indifferent, regretful but a successful person, isn’t it?

But why? Isn’t love, success, happiness and life all subjective rather than objective. I don’t mean to say this is a wrong way to live but this isn’t the only way to live. Basically my definition of ideal happiness may not be the same for my brother’s, friend’s or any one else’s. Because the things that make me happy, give me purpose, sets my heart and soul on fire but also gives me peace are not always similar with another person. Then how could the society or your own self could judge or compare us on these set of rules that doesn’t even apply to two related individuals.

Life is magical, this universe is a marvel albeit slightly cruel and ignorant. Those who believe in magic and seek it, find it. Those who are too scared to break the rules or climb the fence doesn’t get to experience  what this wonder has to offer. People need to stop just thinking out of the box but actually start living outside it too.

Don’t let these norms, rules and definitions scare you cause all of these are about making you believe in something that you may or may not experience long down the road of life. Why aren’t they applicable to the present, i mean why isn’t tackling a bad day at work or managing to convince a intolerable client goes down as success. It should be because this weird illusion game of life was actually designed to help us move forward and make us more hopeful and evolve us into believers, hard workers but over the time we have started to put more pressure on ourselves that we never let ourselves go or enjoy the present, become so uptight that one point we have no life but we live in a competition a game where there is no end until we die.

Stop living to fall into someone else’s definition of love, success or even happiness because it doesn’t matter. What matters is whether you existed, survived or lived. You have no idea how great you are so try to find yourself, start living for yourself, find a purpose do something that gives you happiness. Be a kind stranger. Do anything that gives you happiness, lets you live at peace and doesn’t genuinely hurt another living being, I mean how bad could that be.

‘Hard work never fails’ is something we have heard all our lives but as I grew the amount of belief, I had for the phrase reduced. I...
